Cookie Policy

Last updated: November, 2021

You can use the Cookie Consent Manager to determine whether you consent to the use of cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies for analytics and advertising purposes. You can modify these settings or withdraw your consent at any time by accessing the “Cookie Settings” link located in the footer at the bottom of any Plume websites.

With this Cookie Policy Plume Design, Inc. (“Plume”, “we”, or “our”) would like to provide you with all the necessary information about the cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies (collectively the “Cookies”) in connection to our websites, applications, services, and products (collectively the “Services”) and your choice options in this regard. This Cookie Policy shall be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy and the information regarding Cookies which the Privacy Policy contains. This Cookie Policy is applicable regardless of how you access and make use of the Services, including the access via mobile devices and applications.

What are cookies, web beacons and similar technologies?

Cookies

Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive by a website. They contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive when you make use of our Services. There are different types of cookies:

(i) session cookies expire at the end of your session (e.g. when closing your browser) and enable Us to track your activities during a particular session

(ii) persistent cookies remain stored on your device between sessions for a predetermined period of time and enable Us, for example, to track your settings or activities on our Services

(iii) first-party cookies are set by the provider whose online service you are using (e.g. the operator of the website you are visiting)

(iv) third-party cookies are set by a provider other than the provider whose online service you are using (e.g. the operator of a website other than the one you are visiting)

Web beacons

Web beacons (also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs) are small graphic images that are used in connection with the provision of our Services, and which typically work in conjunction with cookies to track the use of an online service by its users. For example, when We send you emails, web beacons allow Us to track if you opened the emails and clicked links to measure campaign performance and improve features.

Similar technologies

Similar technologies are technologies which enable the entity using it to track your user behavior. This can be done by local shared objects or local storage, such as flash cookies, HTML 5 cookies and other web application software methods, all of which store information in your browser or device. Additionally, there are other technologies that function without local storage in your end device and instead make use of, inter alia, browser functions. In this context, a “fingerprint” of your system is created that serves as a unique identifier.

Why do we use Cookies?

We use Cookies to collect information about your browsing activities (including your browser type, operating system version, domains, IP address, the URL of the page that referred you, referring/exit pages, the different actions you performed, such as page views, how you interact with our Services and with third party links, traffic, and usage trends), and to distinguish you from other users of the Services. This aids your experience when you use the Services and allows us to improve the functionality of the Services.

When you use our Services, we collect certain information by automated means, using technologies such as Cookies and browser analysis tools. In many cases, the information we collect using Cookies and other tools is used in a non-identifiable way, without any reference to personal data. We may use Cookies to make website sign-in and usage more efficient and to tailor your browsing preferences and improve the functionality of our website. Cookies can be used for performance management, collecting information on how our website is being used for analytics purposes. They can also be used for functionality management, enabling us to make the user’s visit more efficient by, for example, remembering language preferences, passwords, and log-in details.

We may also use pixel tags, click-through URLs, and web beacons on our website. These are tiny graphic images placed on web pages or in our emails that allow us to determine whether you have performed a specific action. When you access these pages or open or click an email, the pixel tags and web beacons generate a notice of that action. These tools allow us to measure responses to our communications and improve our web pages and promotions.

What types of Cookies do we use?

We use session Cookies to keep you logged in while you use features of our website; these disappear after you close your browser. We also use persistent Cookies, which stay in your browser and allow us to recognize you when you return to the website.

We use the following Cookies:

  • Essential Cookies (Strictly Necessary). Some Cookies are strictly necessary to make our website or apps available to you and you cannot use them without this type of Cookie. For example, we use authentication Cookies to remember that you have logged in for the duration of the session. We use this information to provide you with our Services, prevent misuse, and ensure our website and apps are working properly.
  • Personalization Cookies (Functional): These are used to recognize you when you return to the Services. This enables us to personalize our content for you, to provide you with a customized experience on our website and apps, and to remember your preferences (for example, your choice of language or region).
  • Analytics Cookies. We also use Cookies for analytical purposes to better understand how you use our Services and how you navigate our website, to measure the effectiveness of our customer communications, to diagnose and fix technology problems, and otherwise enhance our Services. We may use our own analytics Cookies or third-party analytics providers to collect and process certain data analytics on our behalf.

    • We use Google Analytics, an analytics service provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. (“Google”) for continuously improving our Services. Google Analytics makes use of cookies that will be stored on your device and that make it possible to track your usage of our Services. The data (including your IP address) regarding your usage of our Services collected by the cookies are usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there (see additional information for users in the European Economic Area below in this section). On our behalf, Google processes this data to evaluate the use of our Services, to compile reports on usage activities and to provide us with further services associated with the use of our Services. Your IP address transmitted in the context of Google Analytics will not be combined with other data from Google. You can prevent the collection of data through the Google Analytics cookie by adjusting your browser settings accordingly. If you deactivate cookies, you may not be able to use all functions of our Services to their full extent, however. In addition, you can prevent the collection of data related to your use of the Services (including your IP address) via the Google Analytics cookie and the processing of this data by Google by installing the following browser plugin: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en. or via Google’s Ads Settings or Ad Settings for mobile apps. You can learn about Google’s practices by going to https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners. These third-party analytics providers may also collect information about your use of other websites, apps, and online resources.

You can learn more about Google Tag Manager’s privacy practices by going to https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. Further information about Google Tag Manager can be found in the Google Tag Manager Terms of Service.
  • Marketing Cookies. We allow third-party advertising partners to use Cookies on our website to collect information about your browsing activities over time and across websites. We also work with these third-party advertising partners to market our services to you on other websites, apps, and online services. For example, we use advertising services provided by third-party ad partners, such as Google Ads. Through a process called “retargeting”, each service places a Cookie on your browser when you visit our website so that they can identify you and serve you ads on other websites around the web based on your browsing activity.

    • We use Google Ads to advertise on our website and third-party websites to previous visitors of our site. Google Ads is provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. (“Google”). The advertisements are displayed on the basis of information that is stored in cookies which Google places on your device.
